Not since the Sex Pistols' last gasp implosion at The Winterland in '78 has a self-taught visionary with the credentials of Wing landed in San Francisco.
In the underground tradition of The Shaggs, Daniel Johnston and Langley Music School Project, Wing has garnered enough subculture acclaim to inspire the creators of TV's South Park to write an entire episode starring Wing and featuring her talents. This however did not condemn her to 15 minutes of frat boy fame. She slid back below the radar and has produced yet another masterwork, More AC/DC.
Now having been literally talked into bringing her magic to San Francisco, you have the chance that comes around a few times in a generation......did you see Little Richard in '56, Miles Davis in '59, The Beatles in '64, Janis Joplin in '67, Elvis in '69, KISS in '75, The Clash in '78, Afrika Bambaataa in '82.........?
This is one that will be talked about more in the distant future than in the upcoming weeks. You can be a part of music-culture history and say "I was there."
One tour, one city, one night, one show, one Wing.
