Hailing from San Francisco, California, Tarentel began in late 1995 when Danny Grody met Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. Several years, several releases, and more than a couple line-up changes later, Tarentel's sound continues to evolve. While still containing the cinematic beauty of their early recordings, the band's current incarnation has cracked itself wide open, revealing a full spectrum of shimmering beams of light, static transmissions, miasmic ooze, and underwater gurgling. In addition to Jef and Danny, the current line-up also includes Jim Redd, Tony Cross, and filmmaker Paul Clipson.
