Glass Gavel is a San Francisco based experimental rock trio. Formed in 2010, it is a collaboration between Kevin Montag, Andy Meyerson, and Van Jackson-Weaver. When these three young musicians discovered a mutual interest in improvised music, a period of long late-night jam and recording sessions ensued. Through these sessions they developed an improvisation based method of composition that is centered on the concepts of contrast and texture.
