 The Café Du Nord/Swedish American Hall is more than a historic venue. We are an entertainment and private events company that produce more than 400 concerts and events each year.  Many of our clients have been with us for years and tell us that what brings them back, again and again, is the personalized and dedicated service that they receive.  Good service starts at the top.  That is why owners, Kerry LaBelle and Guy Carson personally oversee each event.  Together with their small, hand-picked team of dedicated professionals they strive to make your most important event, your most memorable occassion.  

KERRY LABELLE, Co-owner, Kerry LaBelle, is the very heart of the business. Her Irish roots have endowed her with an innate understanding of human nature and a hard-working, fun-loving spirit. Having spent most of her adult life in the bar business she knows exactly what it takes to make an event work on all levels. In the ten years since Kerry has owned the Du Nord she has produced hundreds of privates including weddings, themed parties, and corporate networking events.  “We know how to throw great parties. It’s all in the details,” ” says Kerry.

GUY CARSON Is the Managing Member of Café Du Nord Partners LLC and as such is your point person on all facility and technical issues pertaining to your event. In addition, he is the principal booker for all of entertainment at both the Café Du Nord and the Swedish American Hall.  In his career, he has booked, managed, produced and/or promoted a wide variety of events both here and abroad, including rodeos, fundraisers, beer festivals, concerts and outdoor festivals. This in addition to running one of S.F’s oldest and most beloved nightclubs, The Hotel Utah, and for the past ten year’s the Café Du Nord.  Guy is passionate about music and is here to assist you in finding just the right music for your event.

DICK BRIGHT is our esteemed Private Events Manager.  Dick will be your first point of contact at the Café Du Nord and Swedish American Hall.  He is clear-headed, straightforward and totally forthright.  He will quickly assess your event ideas and give you direct easy answers as to what is possible and for how much.  He has been at the Du Nord for eight years as an invaluable part of the private event team.  Dick is also a virtuoso violinist and bandleader of the renowned Dick Bright’s SRO and as such has a deep understanding of what makes parties and weddings work.

MIKE WERDEN, “Chef Mike”, has managed the restaurant and catering operations for the Café Du Nord and the Swedish American Hall since 2003.  He is a dedicated, hard-working, hands-on chef who insists on having complete control of everything that goes out of his kitchen.  According to Mike, “my satisfaction comes from seeing happy faces at the end of each event.”  Mike’s has 25 of years cooking and fine dining experience at restaurants including the Waterfront, Vertigo and Le Entrecote.  Mike will work with you personally to develop the perfect menu for your private event in the perfect price range, including a private menu tasting experience.

ROB GIOVANETTI is the General Manager of Café Du Nord and The Swedish American Hall and manages the shows and events on a day-to-day basis.  He has worked for the Café Du Nord for over 10 years and knows our 104-year-old building better than he knows his best friend.  He is there to ensure that your event is appropriately staffed, your security is provided for, and that the facility runs smoothly throughout your event.  You’ll love him as much as we do.
 

STEVER DALLMANN is our Venue Manager for the Swedish American Hall.  With over 20 years of fine event and catering experience, Stever is here to help insure that your celebration will go smoothly. His professional and calm demeanor will be here to guide you for your entire event.
